Prince Harry’s family is not impressed with his comments about King Charles’ wife, Queen Consort Camilla.

The prince accused Camilla Parker Bowles of “sacrificing” him on her “personal PR altar” in his revealing royal memoir, ‘Spare’.

He said he had “complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar”, calling Parker Bowels a “dangerous” and “wicked stepmother”.

The stepbrothers go head-to-head

Prince Harry is getting a lot of blowback for what he said about his father’s wife, Queen Consort Camilla — who will be Queen Camilla upon King Charles’ coronation coming up on May 6.

The Queen Consort’s family is not usually vocal in commenting on royal happenings, but Camila’s son, Tom Parker Bowles had something to say about his step-brother’s remarks about his mother being such a “villain”.

What did Tom Parker Bowles say in response to Prince Harry?

Parker Bowles claimed Camilla never acted conniving or malicious to the royal family, nor did she calculate her way to the throne.

“I don’t care what anyone says — this wasn’t any sort of end game,” Tom Parker Bowels said on the News Agents Podcast. “She married the person she loved and this is what happened.”

“I think anyone would be anxious on an occasion of this sort of importance in terms of the historical,” he defended his mother before the upcoming coronation, adding that she “never complains” about her royal duties.

“And yes, I think I’d be terrified if I had to sort of walk out wearing ancient robes,” Camilla’s son continued. “She’s 75, but you know, it’s tough to do it. But she’s never complained. You just do it. Get on with it.”

There may be more to the story

However, earlier this week, Queen Consort Camilla reportedly told the Marchioness of Lansdowne, who is a deputy lieutenant of Wiltshire, that the king’s wife is hurt by Prince Harry’s accusations.

Of course it bothers her, of course it hurts,” she said. “But she doesn’t let it get to her. Her philosophy is always, ‘Don’t make a thing of it and it will settle down - least said, soonest mended.’”

An aide told The Sunday Times that Camilla just rolled her eyes upon reading the Duke of Sussex’s claims.

“It was not stamping of feet or gnashing of teeth,” the aide said, “it was much more of an eye-roll response.”
