Ryan Reynolds is taking his partnership with good friend and business partner Rob McElhenney to heart, as the ‘Deadpool’ actor took to the microphone to commemorate the Wrexham co-owner’s birthday.

The two Hollywood actors bought the North Wales soccer team in 2020, and have been going to every length possible to bolster the team’s success. The pair have recently been granted several trademarks related to the team, with more pending, in order to establish the team’s branding.

Reynolds sings a serenade

Reynolds, who is known for the silly antics he plays on other celebs, shared a video of himself serenading his pal on social media.

“So here’s a little birthday gift from all your mates in Wrexham,” the 46-year-old actor croons in the video, before singing a silly song about how to pronounce McElhenney’s last name.

“It’s McElhenney, McElhenney, the ways to massacre and mispronounce it there are many,” he sang. “McElhenney, it’s McElhenney, if there was doubt, now there won’t be any, it’s McElhenney.”

Wrexham continues to grow

The proud owners of Wrexham have been doing all they can to help the team get promoted.

The soccer team is now famous around the globe, as they made a Disney+ docuseries about their takeover of the club, and all the adventures that ensued, called ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.

Since then, Reynolds has purchased property in the small town in North Wales only a few miles from the pitch where the team plays, attends the games, and even frequents local council meetings.

The ‘Free Guy’ actor has been enthusiastically received by the locals of the town, and has even been bestowed the nickname, ‘Red Ryan’, in tribute of his work with the team.

The Canadian-born actor takes his family with him to see the games on some occasions, as he was seen with his wife, ‘Gossip Girl’ alum Blake Lively, and their four children — marking the fourth child’s first public appearance.
