Sofia Richie marries music executive Elliot Grainge in star-studded wedding

Lionel Richie’s daughter, American media personality Sofia Richie, married music executive Elliot Gainge on Saturday.

Their nuptials took place in Antibes, France where a slew of celebrities gathered to celebrate the happy couple.

In addition to Lionel Richie, attendees included Nicole Richie, Cameron Diaz, Benji Madden, Joel Madden and Paris Hilton.

The couple made their relationship Instagram official in March 2021 and announced their engagement in April 2022. Richie has shared the preparations for her wedding on her social media accounts in the days leading up to the event.

Richie’s extravagant wardrobe

During the event, Richie wore three custom-made Chanel dresses.

“I always had this vision of the big princess dress, and going big, but as I got older, I realized that I wanted something a bit more simple,” she told Vogue Magazine.

“Maybe ‘simple’ isn’t the right word because my dress definitely is not simple!”

A sneak peek of two out of three dresses were posted in a video to Vogue’s Instagram.

The first dress is long and form-fitting with sheer sleeves, lots of beading and frills.

The second, her wedding dress, is an elegant floor length gown with a halter neck and intricate details in the fabric.

“It is such magic,” Richie said. “I honestly think Elliot is going to love it. He is my biggest cheerleader when it comes to anything I wear. If he doesn’t cry, I’ll be very sad.”

At the wedding after-party, Richie will wear a simple and structured party dress with the iconic Chanel camellia on the chest. The 24-year-old also noted that the after-party will be reminiscent of a nightclub with music and strobe lights.

“This, to me, is like my little girl dream,” Richie said. “And the fact that it is inspired [by] Claudia Schiffer’s runway dress is iconic and dope.”
