Update:
Sydney Sweeney teams up with Ford for Dickies workwear collection

Sydney Sweeney is stepping out of her acting comfort zone into fashion design. The Actress teamed up with Ford and Dickies to create a stylish workwear collection.

The actress also prides herself in her hobby of restoring old cars and explains how the clothing collection is an extension of her style and personality. The ‘White Lotus’ star often takes on acting roles that dress in her traditionally feminine clothing but the actress explains in a Vogue interview that that’s very far from her typical personal style.

Casual personal style

“I think my first-ever class photo is me wearing a pair of overalls. That has been me since day one. I’m always in jeans, T-shirts, baseball caps, and still, overalls,” she explained over Zoom.

The actor also explained how her passion for repairing old cars played a role in this collection. Sweeney has been vocal about this side hustle before, she currently chronicles her projects with her TikTok channel @syds_garage.

Her latest repair was a 1969 red Ford Bronco but she says her love for the cars has longstanding roots within her family.

“I grew up driving Fords and in a family of mechanics,” she says. “So being able to be part of a campaign that empowers young women — I’m really proud of that.”

Syd’s Garage

The partnership is branded as ‘Syd’s Garage’ an homage to her TikTok channel and the nickname she goes by among friends and family.

She continued, “So when Ford came to me, I was so excited. I wore overalls in the shop every single day when I worked on my Bronco. This is very genuine.”

“Ford x Syd’s Garage is me sharing who I am,” says Sweeney. “This collaboration has been a way for me to truly be Syd.”

The collection, which is available via Ford’s merchandise website has already been majorly successful with several pieces including the overalls Sweeney mentions, already sold out in all sizes.

The collection has four pieces, bib overalls, 874 Work plants, a bandana, and a baseball cap. All of them feature either pastel blue or baby pink details somewhere in the design.

Sweeney isn’t only launching a clothing capsule, she’s also working with the ‘Built Ford Proud’ platform, which was launched in 2018 and targets new drivers. She will be hosting an ‘Auto 101′ series where she features in basic vehicle maintenance tutorials.
