Taylor Lautner reacts to Taylor Swift’s upcoming ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’

‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ is scheduled to be released on July 7, 2023.

‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ is scheduled to be released on July 7, 2023.

Taylor Lautner is speaking out about Taylor Swift’s upcoming re-release, and fans couldn’t be happier.

On May 16 the 31-year-old actor voiced his opinion on his ex Taylor Swift’s upcoming ‘Speak Now’ (Taylor’s Version) release while on the TODAY show.

Both Lautner and his wife have connections to this album, with his wife Tay Dome Lautner making a statement back in February saying “Speak Now is one of the best albums of all time, the lyrics are insane.”

While the Twilight star is rumored to be the inspiration for Swift’s track “Back to December” which is on the album.

When asked what he thought about the musical announcement, he told TODAY, “I think it’s a great album. Yeah, I feel safe. Praying for John.

Lautner is “praying” for John Mayer.

Although Lautner’s track “Back to December” takes a positive spin on his and Swift’s short-lived romance, other tracks like “Dear John” takes a darker and more honest road.

Swift has yet to confirm that the heartbreaking track is about Mayer, who she dated from 2009 to 2010, but it’s clear from the lyrics that fans are making valid assumptions about who inspired the song.

Mayer even thinks the song is about him, back in 2012 he opened up to Rolling Stone explaining how “Dear John” made him “feel terrible.”

“Because I didn’t deserve it. I’m pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do,” he said.

“I never got an email. I never got a phone call. I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?”

Taylor Swift surprised fans with her Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) announcement.

During one of her three scheduled shows at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Swift took the opportunity to announce that the re-recording of her 2010 album is scheduled to release on July 7, 2023.

The re-release of ‘Speak Now’ will feature an additional six tracks among the album’s original songs like ‘Enchanted’ and ‘Mean’.

After making the announcement to a full stadium, Swift relayed the news to the rest of her fans on social media.

“It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk) I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20,” Swift wrote. “The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness.

“I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crying… and living to speak about it. With six extra songs I’ve sprung loose from the vault, I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with you on July 7th.”
