Taylor Swift is Spotify’s 1st and 2nd global artist for 2024
The singer closes a successful year at the top of the streaming service’s annual Wrapped list. Let’s take a look at the numbers.
Taylor Swift will bring her record-breaking Eras Tour to a close in Vancouver on Sunday and with it bring the curtain down on the most successful 12 months of her career - a lucrative year by anyone’s standards.
Her double album, The Tortured Poets Department, released in April, shot straight to number one in 28 countries worldwide and went 6x platinum in the United States, 3x platinum in New Zealand and 2x platinum in the United Kingdom.
The Era’s tour smashes previous records
Her Eras Tour, a two-year jaunt across the globe in which she performed 149 shows in five continents, is the highest grossing tour by any artist in history, having generated $1.93 billion in ticket sales.
The accompanying movie brought in over $260 million at the box office and her new coffee table book which documents the tour sold 814,000 copies in its first week.

Spotify revealed its Wrapped data for 2024, compiling the most streamed songs and the most followed artists - and guess who tops both charts?
Taylor Swift was crowned Global Top Artist for the second year running with over 26.6 billion global streams on the platform. Her last studio album racked up over 300 million streams in just one day - a record.
The Cruel Summer songstress is also the most-followed female artist on Spotify with 127,378,750 followers (behind the overall leader, Indian playback singer Arijit Singh with 130,296,013).
While The Tortured Poets Department - The Anthology was the most streamed album of 2024 on Spotify, the most streamed song by Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter with 1,656,598,826. Swift’s most streamed song this year was Cruel Summer which has over a billion streams and is in ninth in the Wrapped 2024 list.
