Taylor Swift shakes off cut hand during ‘Eras Tour’ show, explains what caused it
Taylor Swift lost of a chunk of her skin on her left palm during Saturday’s performance, but that didn’t stop her performance.
Taylor Swift didn’t let a cut hand slow her down after wrapping up a trio of shows at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Sunday night.
The singer injured her hand midway through her Saturday show, with fans online quick to point out she was missing a chunk of skin from her left palm.
It appeared to bleed on and off throughout the remainder of the show, with Swift needing her hand bandaged. However, it seemed to lose effectiveness as the show went on, eventually slipping off her hand.
Swift explains how the cut happened
Swift took to social media and explained to fans what caused her to cut her hand during Saturday’s performance
“Just got to play 3 insane shows in Houston and I’m waking up smiling reminiscing about how much fun we all had,” said Swift, captioning three photos from the trio of performances.
“Loving this tour so much because of the passion these crowds put into it all – seriously can’t wait for Atlanta.
“PS for those asking how I cut my hand, I’m totally fine and it was my fault completely – tripped on my dress hem and fell in the dark backstage while running to a quick change – braced my fall with my palm.
“It was all very Mercury in retrograde coded. Don’t worry about me I’m gooooood.”
Fans surprised Swift was able to continue given the injury
Although Swift was able to joke about the injury, fans on social media were impressed by the fact the singer continued performing.
Despite missing a chunk of skin on her left palm, Swift kept her focus to see out the show, and then return for another show the following day.
“Taylor’s dedication is unreal,” wrote one fan. “I cannot believe she performed with her hand THAT injured last night, without letting on that something was going on. We do not deserve her.”
“WHAT THE HELLLL taylor’s hand was actually so bad how did she even play guitar after this oh my beloved whoever did this TRUST you will be dealt with!!!,” wrote another
Another added: “Taylor’s insane bc she performed two nights with her hand hurt and missing a piece but when I get a paper cut I cancel all my plans bc it hurts too much.”
