Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ merchandise reportedly not up to par

Amid widespread criticism from fans after the fading of the garments, Swift’s team says they are supposed to look like that.

The Eras Tour ¿Cuánto dinero gana Taylor Swift por concierto?

Taylor Swift kicked off her epic ‘Eras Tour’ on March 17, and the string of shows has been a wild success.

The superstar has delighted audiences with surprise songs and homeless shelter donations, her shows have been sold out, she’s setting records, and her shows are peppered with celebrities.

This close to perfect

The one complaint? Swift’s merch is reportedly not up to standard.

Several of the ‘Midnights’ singer’s fans have purchased merchandise from Taylor Swift’s online merchandise store or at the concert venues, but are unhappy with the quality of the garments.

The fans report

Swifties have reportedly been spending hours waiting in long lineups at ‘Eras Tour’ venues to buy the popstar’s merchandise, which offers a collection of hoodies, tees, and other clothing items, as well as various memorabilia.

However, many fans report that after taking the clothing home and washing it, the colors faded quickly.

One fan waited five hours to buy a zip-up Swift hoodie that cost $65, but she was disappointed in its poor quality.

“After one wash, the print was horribly faded to the point Taylor’s face on the print was unrecognizable,” says Swift fan Emilia, who bought the sweatshirt at the ‘Eras Tour’ show in Las Vegas.

“It was also 65 dollars, which I feel like is more than enough for it to hold up,” the fan continued. “It’s super disappointing that it looks this bad.”

Another fan, Florencia, bought her shirt at the Glendale show, and it faded after one wash.

The point of buying a shirt or a sweatshirt is to wear it — if I knew I couldn’t wear it, I would have gotten the water bottle or tour poster instead, which are cheaper than the clothing,” the fan said.

She was so disappointed in the quality, that she made a Twitter thread that collected complaints from other fans saying the same thing.

“I wanted to create awareness and give a heads-up about it to the Swifties who were planning on staying hours in line for merch just like I did.”

A third fan was even warned about the clothing’s quality by the merch vendors when he bought tee shirts at the Vegas show.

“I was actually warned about it from the girls running the booth at the Vegas show,” said Zackary.

Paty, another fan, got an ‘Eras Tour’ shirt from Swift’s online store, and after washing it, “all the black ink in the pictures faded.”

Looks that way on purpose?

Swift’s team declined to comment on the quality of the garments, and posted that “they’re supposed to look like this” and reminded fans that they should learn how to correctly care for their clothing.

“Due to the particular ink curing process used on certain Tour Collection products, after washing your merchandise you may see a faint fade on the product print,” Swift’s team wrote. “This slight fade is related to the product’s distressed, vintage look.”

“Please also note it is important to follow product care instructions as listed on the product label when washing and drying your items, to best protect and maintain the product’s look and feel.”
