That time Nikki Glaser destroyed Anne Coulter at the Comedy Central Rob Lowe Roast

Ricky Gervais set the bar pretty high with his digs at the Hollywood elite when he hosted the Golden Globes in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2020. He didn’t hold back and the fans loved him for it. Stand up comedy fans have missed Gervais edgy comedy at the Golden Globes and are expecting some poignant humor from Glaser at the 2025 Golden Globes.

What did Nikki Glaser say to Anne Coulter at the Rob Lowe Roast?

Glaser didn’t hold back when she got the chance to roast right-wing pundit Anne Coulter at the Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe in 2016. She started off strong:

“And without Führer ado, Ann Coulter,” Glaser got things going fast. “Oh Anne, what’s it like to be like a real life super villain?,” as the camera focused on Coulter’s face with an expression like she wanted to bury her head in the sand. Glaser continued, “I’d ask you how you sleep at night, but I assume just upside down in a robe of 101 dalmatians.”

What makes her roasts so much better than the other participants is the imagery she describes. Granted, it’s not difficult to imagine Anne Coulter sleeping like that, but Glaser’s delivery is perfectly timed and brutally honest.

“Ann Coulter has written 11 books, 12 if you count ‘Mein Kampf’,” she continued. “Yes, Anne’s been called things like a racist, anti-semetic, homophobic, a white supremacist and that’s just while getting plowed by Bill Maher.” At this point you almost have to feel sorry for Coulter. The abuse she took was just brutal, but it didn’t stop there.

“The only person you will ever make happy is the Mexican who digs your grave,” she concludes with that gem. Her mates at the roast were equally rough on Coulter, who took the abuse gracefully:

Coulter did get asked by Hollywood Reporter about why she did the Comedy Central Rob Lowe Roast and what she thought about it. She didn’t point any fingers or get defensive, but she obviously didn’t know what she was getting into and didn’t enjoy the experience. When asked about why she thought the roast became centered on her she go her own dig on Comedy Central,  “I have no idea, but it probably has something to do with Comedy Central’s corporate decision to move away from comedy — which is paying huge dividends with the Larry Wilmore and Trevor Noah shows,” she said.

Tonight the 2025 Golden Globes awards ceremony could be very funny and might be awkward for some Hollywood TV and movie stars if Glaser gets anywhere close to that level of brutal, in your face humor.
