After being rushed to hospital with a “serious bacterial infection,” Madonna is back in rehearsals for The Celebration Tour, her upcoming world tour which previously had to be put back due to her health issues.
As the “Queen of Pop” gets ready to go on the road, a source close to her entourageexclusively revealed to celebrity news outlet Page Six that she is trying to arrange for the “Princess of Pop”, Britney Spears, to join her for a few shows, as the two singers share the same manager.
Where and when could Britney join Madonna on stage?
The source claims Spears, who recently divorced from Sam Asghari, will be invited along to the five dates scheduled in Los Angeles in March (4, 5, 7, 9 and 11) to mark 20 years since the release of “Me Against the Music”, which the pair collaborated on in October 2003.
“Madonna originally wanted Britney to join her on tour this year. Everything was put back due to her illness, but she still wants Britney to join her at Kia Forum,” the source reveals.
When was Britney Spears’ last live performance?
Spears fans are dying to see their idol get back on stage, which she last did over five-and-a-half years ago at a New Year’s Eve concert in Las Vegas on 31 December 2017.
The pair have, of course, already performed together live. At the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, they famously kissed during their rendition of “Hollywood”, with their last joint outing coming on Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet Tour in 2008.
