The changes Ticketmaster are implementing for Beyonce’s ‘Renaissance’ tour

The changes come after Ticketmaster announced demand for tickets is 800 percent higher than supply.

The changes come after Ticketmaster announced demand for tickets is 800 percent higher than supply.

Ticketmaster looks to have learned from recent failures after tackling the issue of resellers when it comes to tickets for Beyonce’s upcoming ‘Renaissance’ world tour.

The demand to see Queen Bey is high, with the company stating in an online post that demand has exceeded their supply by “more than 800 percent”.

Fan demand already exceeds the number of tickets available by more than 800 percent based on the registration numbers in the Group A cities,” reads the post. “It is expected that many interested fans may not be able to get tickets because demand drastically exceeds supply.”

With that much demand, secondary shows in seven cities - Toronto, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, East Rutherford - have already been added.

Along with a SNKRS-like lottery system to ensure that ticketing systems won’t be overwhelmed, the company is tackling an issue that has frustrated fans for years: resellers.

What Ticketmaster is doing about resellers

The company is tackling the issue of resellers by preventing ticket holders from selling their seats on Ticketmaster for more than the original retail price.

That means that fans won’t have to face the issues that Bruce Springsteen fans faced when trying to buy tickets for his concert, with dynamic pricing resulting in some tickets going for as much as $5,000.

Ticketmaster under pressure after Taylor Swift debacle

The news comes after Ticketmaster faced scrutiny for their handling of ticket sales for Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour.

The company has been hit with a pair of class-action lawsuits by Swift fans after the chaotic rollout and general sale cancellation, resulting in a Congressional hearing over Ticketmaster and Live Nation’s practices.

Beyonce and the Grammy Awards

While Beyonce fans wait to see whether they can get their hands on tickets for the ‘Renaissance’ tour, their immediate focus is on whether she will be making an appearance at this weekend’s Grammy Awards.

It was recently announced that husband Jay-Z will be performing the Grammy nominated song, ‘God Did’, with DJ Khaled, but Beyonce’s status remains unclear.

Despite growing speculation she may perform at the event, that, as well as her attendance, has yet to be confirmed.

A performance at the Grammy Awards would make it two performances for Queen Bey in a short period of time, as she recently took the stage for the first time in four years at an exclusive launch for a Dubai resort.
