The 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards celebrated the biggest shows and movies of the past year, though the event was a little different than usual.

With Drew Barrymore dropping out from her hosting duties just days before the event to show solidarity with the striking writers, the show opted to pivot from a live show.

Instead, the show featured clips from previous ceremonies and pre-recorded segments that still featured Barrymore.
