‘The Last of Us’ second season release date confirmed via powerful trailer
The HBO series will be available in April and will cover part of the second installment of the video game.
A story of revenge, a visceral hatred that escapes the logic of reason and sanity. In a place plunged into the apocalypse, survival is everything. Those who still remember life in the old world know that it will never return; those who were born in hell know nothing better.
Based on the video game of the same name by Naughty Dog, the second series of the drama is set to return to our screens after HBO shared a teaser trailer confirming its premiere next April.
The second series of ‘The Last of Us’ is set twenty years into a pandemic caused by a mass fungal infection, which causes its hosts to transform into zombie-like creatures and collapses society.
In the trailer we hear alarms ringing and Abby (Kaitlyn Denver) wandering through the dingy hallways as she holds a gun and looks nervous. A series of shots then follow, and we see characters like Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey). After the end of the first season, the main duo lives a relatively peaceful life, but nothing lasts long in this nightmare reality, where violence and death reign.
Will there be more seasons of The Last of Us?
Filming for the second season of ‘The Last of Us’ concluded last August. Casey Bloys, head of HBO and Max, explained at the time that the intention was to release the series in the first half of 2025 with April ultimately being the confirmed month for the release. The series will continue the story of the second game and as things stand, further seasons are expected in the future.
The second season is expected to feature seven episodes and was primarily filmed in British Columbia (Canada).
