‘The Mandalorian’ season 3 trailer revealed
The newest trailer for season 3 of Disney Plus’ hit series ‘The Mandalorian’ is making waves, with Din Djarin and Grogu finally reunited.
Fans of ‘The Mandalorian’ still have to wait just over six weeks for season 3 of the hit Disney Plus series, but in the meantime, Lucasfilm have helped fill the void after releasing a new trailer on Monday night.
The trailer was revealed during the NFL Wild Card game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and features star duo Din Djarin and Grogu reunited as they head for Mandalore.
The third season takes place after 2022′s side story, ‘The Book of Boba Fett’, which saw Grogu leave his Jedi training with Luke Skywalker and reunite with Din, who was expelled from the Children of the Watch for being seen without his helmet. As a result only a return to Mandalore can help him.
“Being a Mandalorian’s not just learning about how to fight,” says Din, played by Pedro Pascal, in a voiceover. “You also have to know how to navigate the galaxy. That way, you’ll never be lost.”
The trailer features several Mandalorians as they prepare for the upcoming battle on their home planet, and also sees Grogu actively defend himself from an attacker as Din delivers his famous, “This is the way.”
Din still has the legendary Darksaber, which mean he is entitled to rule Mandalore, but that likely won’t sit well with Bo-Katan, played by Katee Sackhoff, who is notably missing from the trailer.
The trailer teases the return of some familiar faces, with Giancarlo Esposito returning as the villainous Moff Gideon, Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto and Carl Weathers as Greef Karga all confirmed for season 3. Christopher Lloyd, who played Doc Brown in “Back to the Future”, also joins the cast in a yet to be named role.
Where to watch The Mandalorian season 3
The Mandalorian season 3 premieres on Disney+ on March 1 and will feature eight episodes. A fourth season is already in development.
Directors for the upcoming season include Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey, and Bryce Dallas Howard.
“The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue,” reads the official synopsis for season 3. “Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.”
Season 3 of the hit show isn’t the only Star Wars project fans can look forward to in 2023, as it will be joined by ‘Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’, ‘Star Wars: Ahsoka’ and ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’.
