The Strokes announce seventh studio album: release date and track list
The indie rockers drop a new single ‘Going Shopping’ ahead of a nine-track album ‘Reality Awaits’ - the band’s first new material since 2020.

The Strokes have officially announced their new album, titled Reality Awaits. The New York band’s seventh studio record, and first new material in six years, is set to drop on June 26 through Cult Records/RCA.
The new album will be available on standard black or exclusive, limited edition marble vinyl, CD and in digital download formats. It can be pre-ordered on the band’s official website here.
‘Reality Awaits’ tracklist:
1. ‘Psycho Shit’
2. ‘Dine N’Dash’
3. ‘Lonely In The Future’
4. ‘Falling Out Of Love’
5. ‘Going To Babble On’
6. ‘Going Shopping’
7. ‘Liar’s Remorse’
8. ‘The Fruits Of Conquest’
9. ‘Pros And Cons’
Just like their previous album, The New Abnormal (2020), the new project was produced by Rick Rubin, who once again oversaw the recording sessions. The band tracked much of the album in Costa Rica before finishing it in several locations around the world.
The Strokes also released the first preview of the record, “Going Shopping,” a track they had previously teased to select fans via cassette. The song stands out for Julian Casablancas’ prominent use of vocoder, giving it a distinct sonic twist.
