April 19 has finally arrived, and with it, the official premiere of ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ Taylor Swift’s eleventh studio album. Last February, at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, Taylor revealed that she would release a new album this month. This announcement came as a surprise to her fans, who were waiting for the release of “Reputation (Taylor’s Version).” The music superstar announced the release of this album when accepting her Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for ‘Midnights’ last year. The award was her 13th Grammy, Swift’s lucky number.

“This is my 13th Grammy, which is my lucky number, I don’t know if I’ve ever told you that. So I want to thank the fans by telling them a secret that I have been keeping from them for the last two years, and that is that my new album is coming out on April 19″

Who was Taylor Swift inspired to write it by, Matty Healy or Joe Alwyn?

Taylor Swift is known for invoking her past relationships in her songwriting. Some of her most famous songs are rumored to be about ex-boyfriends such as John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal. There has been speculation about whether her latest album draws inspiration from her two recent romances: her six-year relationship with Joe Alwyn or her brief fling with Matty Healy.

Last April, fans learned that Swift’s six-year relationship with actor Joe Alwyn had ended. A month later, news broke that the singer had started a new romance with Matty Healy, the lead singer of the band The 1975. However, the relationship ended after a month. Nevertheless, the question remains: did these romances inspire her latest album?

After the singer announced the title of her new album, fans started speculating about its inspiration. It was initially assumed that songs would be dedicated to her ex-boyfriend, Alwyn, who had mentioned having a WhatsApp group chat with actors Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal called ‘Tortured Man Club’ in an interview. The album was expected to revolve around Swift’s relationship with Alwyn, as she revealed that it has been in the works for the last two years. However, some song titles suggest that the album touches on her past romance with Healy.

While it is speculated that ‘So Long, London,’ ‘But Daddy I Love Him’ and ‘Florida!!!’, could be inspired by Alwyn, due to Healy’s controversial behavior, Swift fans believe the songs ‘Guilty as Sin,’ ‘I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)’ and ‘The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived’ is about the leader of The 1975.

Although Swift has not confirmed who her songs on TTPD will be about, at her concert in Melbourne, Australia, she said that the album was a “lifesaver” for her during a difficult time in their life.
