Update:

Acclaimed author Stephen King made the news back in November with the 77-year-old one of the high profile public figures to confirm that he would no longer post on X.

King has been a long standing critic of Elon Musk and has spend much time criticising the South African tycoon who took control of the social media site (formerly known as Twitter) back in April 2022.

On November 14, the Maine-based writer posted for the last time to his 6.9 million followers on X stating: “I’m leaving Twitter,” the horror writer began. “I’ve tried to stay, but the atmosphere has become too toxic. Follow me on Threads (and Blue Sky), if you like.”

King is now a regular poster on Blue Sky and maintains his forthright and frank views on a myriad of current affairs.

He then delivered a follow-up post on Friday, adding: "I hear what you guys are saying about the Oscars, and how they’re a celebration of life, and the show must go on, blah-blah-blah, so-on-and-so-forth. It all makes a degree of sense, but to me it still feels like Nero fiddling while Rome burns. Or in this case, wearing fancy clothes while LA burns".
