This is the ‘White Lotus’ season 3 trailer: Release date, cast and how to stream
One of the most highly-anticipated series returns to Max in the New Year. Here’s what we know and who will star in the third season.
Fans of The White Lotus won’t have to wait too long for the third season of the dark comedy drama, centered around a fictional resort and the dysfunctional guests and employees who inhabit it.
White Lotus heads east
The first two seasons were set in picturesque locations - Hawaii and Sicily, and the third continues the theme as the series will be set on the island of Koh Samui just off the east coast of Thailand.
Koh Samui was in the news for all the wrong reasons last year as it was the scene of a particularly gruesome crime. Daniel Sancho, son of Spanish actor Rodolfo Sancho, murdered and dismembered Colombian surgeon, Edwin Arrieta.
The White Lotus, created and written by Mike White is one of the most acclaimed, original series produced by HBO and one of the platform’s success stories, winning six Primetime Emmy Awards with the first season gaining 90 percent positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and the second, 94 percent.
Which actors are back for The White Lotus 3?
Season 3 will run for eight episodes and feature many returning cast members. Natasha Rothwell, who starred as spa manager Belinda Lindsey in season 1 returns.
There will be no comeback however, (for now but who knows?) for Jennifer Coolidge, who played insular heiress Tanya McQuoid, who was killed off in Season 2.
Joining Natasha Rothwell are Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey and Tayme Thapthimthong.

- Leslie Bibb as KATE - One of a group of three lifelong friends who haven't seen each other for several years but reunite for the trip of a lifetime.
- Carrie Coon as LAURIE - Kate's friend and travel companion.
- Walton Goggins as RICK HATCHETT - a terse, bad tempered man with a chip on his shoulder, who is on holiday with his girlfriend Chelsea.
- Sarah Catherine Hook as PIPER RATLIFF - a university religious studies student in her final year. The half daughter of Timothy and Victoria Ratliff.
- Jason Isaacs as TIMOTHY RATLIFF - a wealthy businessman on holiday with his wife and three children.
- Lalisa Manobal as MOOK - a health mentor who looks after the guests at The White Lotus.
- Michelle Monaghan as JACLYN - a friend of Kate and Laurie.
- Sam Nivola as LOCHLAN RATLIFF - Timothy and Victoria Ratliff's youngest son, in his final year of college.
- Lek Patravadi as SRITALA - one of the The White Lotus owners, a well being guru.
- Parker Posey as VICTORIA RATLIFF - on holiday with her husband and three children.
- Natasha Rothwell as BELINDA - spa manager of the White Lotus in Hawaii.
- Patrick Schwarzenegger as SAXON RATLIFF - Timothy and Victoria Ratliff's eldest son. Saxon works in his father's successful business.
- Tayme Thapthimthong as GAITOK - The White Lotus security guard.
- Aimee Lou Wood as CHELSEA - a free spirit, who is travelling with her boyfriend Rick, older than her and with a nervious disposition.
Mike White gave us an insight into what to expect from the third season of the series. “The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex. I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.”
The third season of The White Lotus will premiere on February 16 2025 on HBO and be available for streaming on Max.
