This is what Scooby-Doo actress Linda Cardellini looks like at 49 years old
Cardellini played short-sighted brain box Velma in ‘Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed’ 20 years ago.
It’s been over two decades since Linda Cardellini starred as Velma Dinkley, the ginger, bespectacled boffin Velma Dinkley - one of the four members of crime-busting crew Mystery, Inc and their affable canine pal, Scooby.
The versatile, Californian actress got her first major break in 1999 with the role of Lindsay Weir in NBC’s comedy-drama Freaks and Geeks.
“Jinkies!” It’s Velma
She first played Velma in the original 2002 movie directed by Raja Gosnell and was back for more mystery solving in the sequel Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed two years after that.
Since then, Linda has kept herself busy with various projects, working in television and film as well as doing voice-over work.
She has 77 film credits on the IMDB database. After Scooby, she appeared in box office hits such as Brokeback Mountain (2005), Daddy’s Home (2015) and starred as secret agent Laura Barton in two Marvel Comics superhero movies: Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Avengers: Endgame (2019).
Who is Linda Cardellini’s partner?
She also became a mother. In 2012, she gave birth to their daughter Lilah-Rose, who arrived on February 29 of a leap year. Cardellini and her long-term partner Steven Rodriguez were engaged a few months later although the pair have yet to tie the knot. They met when in elementary school when she was 10 and he was 11 but didn’t become an item until 2010 when both were in their mid-30s.
“Having a family shifts all your priorities,” she told LA Confidential Magazine in 2019. “Your capacity for love grows and you suddenly feel the preciousness of time.”
In her latest role, Linda stars as backstabbing social climber Margo Starling in Netflix’s eight-episode dark comedy No Good Deed alongside Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano. The series was released on 12 December.
