Timeless beauty: Ali Larter shines in ‘Landman’ | See her stunning transformation from past roles
Model turned actress Larter, known for featuring in ‘Final Destination’ and ‘Heroes,’ stars alongside Billy Bob Thornton in the Paramount+ drama.

Ali Larter, who most recently starred alongside Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore and Jon Hamm in Paramount+ drama series “Landman,” has come a long way since portraying fictional model Allegra Coleman in an Esquire magazine hoax.
After starting out as a model in a commercial for baseball team the Philadelphia Phillies at the age of 14, the now 48-year-old spent time modelling in Australia, Italy and Japan after signing with the prestigious Ford Modelling Agency in New York.
But her 1996 casting as the non-existent Coleman, which attracted the attention of numerous talent agencies, did eventually catapult her onto both the small and big screens. Her professional acting debut came the following year, starting with a minor role in “Suddenly Susan,” starring Brooke Shields.
Larter’s memorable “Varsity Blues” scene
Larter’s film breakthrough in “Varsity Blues” will forever be remembered for her whipped cream “bikini” scene, although she later established herself as a scream queen thanks to her performances in “House on Haunted Hill” and, in particular, the “Final Destination” franchise.
In the 2000s, the New Jersey native featured in several movies, including comedies “Legally Blonde,” “A Lot Like Love,” and “Marigold,” as well as political thriller “Obsessed”. By the time she appeared in the latter two of those films, Larter had achieved wider recognition thanks to NBC drama “Heroes,” which she starred in from 2006 to 2010.
After taking a break from the spotlight, during which time she and husband Hayes MacArthur had two children (born in 2010 and 2015), Larter’s main roles have come in short-lived Fox drama “Pitch,” and as a recurring character in “The Rookie,” broadcast on ABC.
Larter’s “cartoonish” performance in “Landman” defended
Until now, that is. First released in November 2024, “Landman” is “a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of West Texas oil rigs,” according to IMDB.
Larter has received some criticism for her “cartoonish” performance as Angela Norris, the gold-digging ex-wife of Tommy Norris, played by Thornton, who has fiercely defended his co-star.
All 10 episodes of “Landman” have now been broadcast on Paramount+, so you can judge Larter’s acting for yourself.
