The cast of ‘Titanic’: Where are they now?

Since embarking on the set of ‘Titanic’ in 1997, see what Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio, and more have been up to

Titanic: la teoría que revela que Jack fue un invento de Rose

In the 25 years since James Cameron released his film ‘Titanic’ in 1997, many members of the cast have gone on to lead successful careers. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet have successfully broken away from the role that solidified their careers, with other members of the cast finding success in the industry as well.

With the film being re-released on Friday for the 25th anniversary, interest in the film and the cast has reignited. So where have the stars been up to?

Kate Winslet

Winslet has made a name for herself in the film industry since playing the main character Rose Dewitt Bukater at the age of 22.

The ‘Titanic’ role earned her nominations for Best Actress during the 1998 Academy Awards, the 1998 Golden Globe Awards, and the 1998 SAG Awards.

Later in her career, Winslet won the Oscar for Best Actress in 2009 for her role as Hanna Schmitz in ‘The Reader.’ For the same role, she won a Golden Globe and a SAG award.

She also worked again with James Cameron in ‘Avatar: The Way of Water,’ where she voiced Ronal, free diver of the Metkayina and Tonowari’s wife.

Leonardo DiCaprio

DiCaprio played Jack Dawson, Rose’s love interest. After the film’s release, he went on to become a frequent collaborator with director Martin Scorsese, playing the lead role in films ‘Gangs of New York,’ ‘Shutter Island,’ ‘The Wolf of Wall Street,’ and more.

After seven Oscar nominations, he finally won Best Actor in ‘The Revenant.’

He is currently set to appear in Scorsese’s upcoming 2023 film ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ alongside Robert DeNiro.

Kathy Bates

Bates played Molly Brown, a character described as ‘the voice of reason in a number of different conversations and situations.’ Bates’ character was one of the few based on a real passenger of the Titanic, who survived and became known as ‘the unsinkable Molly Brown.’

Bates is known for her roles in movies such as ‘Misery’, for which she won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, and ‘Fried Green Tomatoes,’ where she was nominated for a Golden Globe.

She has also appeared in TV shows ‘Two and Half Men,’ and ‘American Horror Story.’

Billy Zane

Zane played Rose’s fiancé Caledon Hockley, who was oblivious to Rose’s disinterest in the relationship.

He played “Match” in the ‘Back to the Future’ franchise, and appeared in ‘The Believer.’ He played himself in the ‘Zoolander’ franchise. On TV he appeared in ‘Charmed,’ ‘Community’ and ‘The Boys.’
