Worlds collide as Fast & the Furious meets Mission Impossible

He wasn’t the only star attending the event, as he was photographed with Vin Diesel and Ludacris, both Fast and the Furious stars, who have the need for action and speed.

“Maverick meets Toretto…” Vin Diesel captioned his post, a reference to Cruise’s Pete Mitchell aka “Maverick”, and his own character, Dominic Toretto.

Ludacris also reposted the photo on his Instagram, calling it “The Winners Circle.”

Vin Diesel’s post about the potential crossover between the franchises certainly got plenty of fans talking.

“I was just thinking why Tom Cruise ain’t one of the villains. He’s badass lol,” wrote one fan.

Another said: “Mission Impossible 8: It’s All About Family.”

Cruise will star in the upcoming Mission Impossible instalment, ‘Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One’. The film is set to hit theaters on July 12, 2023.

He’s also been hard at work filming ‘Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part Two’. Filming has been ongoing since July, with the film set to hit theaters on June 28, 2024.

Cruise asks King Charles to be his wingman

Along with watching the F1 race, Cruise also appeared in a prerecorded segment for the King’s coronation. The actor was seen in a video titled “Did you know?” which was played right before the Lionel Richie concert in Windsor Castle.

The video showed Cruise piloting a fighter plane, saying: “Pilot to pilot, Your Majesty, you can be my wingman any time.”

It isn’t the first time Cruise has been involved in a royal event. He attended the funeral of Charles’s first wife, Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1997 alongside his then-wife Nicole Kidman.
