Monday’s NBA game between the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat was delayed after Tracy Morgan took ill as he was watching courtside. The comedian, who was born in Brooklyn, is a fan of the Knicks and regularly attends games at Madison Square Garden.
56-year-old Morgan was taken away in a wheelchair after vomiting next to the court, having previously appeared to suffer a bloody nose. The deadly accident that changed Tracy Morgan’s life
Morgan has suffered several health issues in recent years. In 2010, he underwent a kidney transplant, while he was involved in a deadly limo bus crash four years later which led to him spending two weeks in a coma.
The accident, which occurred on a New Jersey highway, was caused by a Walmart truck driver who had allegedly been awake for more than 24 hours. Morgan suffered several severe injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, broken ribs and a fractured leg, which contributed to him being placed in a medically induced coma and was followed by months of rehabilitation.
James McNair, Morgan’s close friend and fellow comedian, died in the crash.
Morgan filed a lawsuit against Walmart and the truck driver, with reports claiming he was compensated with $90 million, although his lawyer denied that was the final figure.
