U2 announce new ‘shadow’ album set for November release
As part of the 20th anniversary of How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, the band will release a ‘shadow’ album, How To Re-Assemble An Atomic Bomb which includes new and unreleased tracks.
It’s time for U2 fans to get excited as the Irish rockers have confirmed the release of a 20th anniversary edition of their 2004 classic How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb along with a companion ‘shadow’ album featuring 10 songs titled How To Re-Assemble An Atomic Bomb which includes a series of new and unreleased tracks that were produced during the original album recording sessions in Dublin.
How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb was U2′s eleventh studio album and first saw the light of day in November of 2004 and was spearheaded by the now iconic single ‘Vertigo’ with the album shooting to No. 1 in 34 countries around the world, including the UK and the US.
Now, for the first time, a ‘shadow’ album How To Re-Assemble An Atomic Bomb sees the light of day with this companion album composed of ten tracks taken from the original recording sessions for ‘How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb’, recently rediscovered in the band’s archive and now released for the first time as a standalone album.
This shadow album includes four new, never-before-heard or previously released songs - ‘Treason’, ‘Evidence Of Life’, ‘Country Mile’ and ‘Happiness’; plus a song called ‘Luckiest Man In The World’ - which was released under its working title ‘Mercy’, and was leaked online almost 20 years ago but now gets its official release.
Five newly remastered songs - ‘Picture Of You (X+W)’, ‘Don’t Wanna See You Smile’, ‘Are We Gonna Wait Forever?’, ‘Theme From The Batman’ and ‘All Because Of You 2′ complete the ten tracks that feature on the companion release.
