Victoria Beckham reveals the secret to doing 90s lipstick
The former Spice Girl takes to Instagram to reveal her secret lipstick tricks to create that classic 90s look
Victoria Beckham recently unveiled how she did her old 90s lipstick in an Instagram tutorial, where the former Posh Spice said she was “moments away from putting on a catsuit and spicing up my life!”
The former Spice Girl, a 90s icon known for her minimalistic and “posh” style when she was in the girl band, recreated the lipstick look using products from her own makeup line Victoria Beckham Beauty, which was launched in 2019.
The pop star turned businesswoman acknowledged that “The 90s are making a big comeback,” referring to the recent popularity of 90s and early 2000s fashion and makeup in younger generations.
Before beginning the tutorial, Beckham emphasized that the look is all about simplicity, and many 90s looks do prefer the simple rather than the extravagant.
How to get the 90s look
“Start with a natural clean lip, just a little bit of concealer, always quite dry as well,” she begins her tutorial.
“This is sway. I like to dab it onto my lips in a much more precise application. It also means I can really build the color up.” At this step, she is applying the Posh Lipstick color “sway”.
She then outlines her lips with her number four lip liner which she admits “is a little bit darker than I would normally use but for that nineties look, this is the perfect lip liner.” The darker lip liner, she explains, gives the illusion of a fuller pout.
She finishes her tutorial in Posh Gloss shade “Poolside,” dabbing the color all over the lips, before finishing the look and blowing a kiss to the camera.
Breaking into the beauty world
While Beckham is no stranger to the world of beauty and fashion, she has recently been using her social media platforms and fame as a former 90s star to take advantage of the recent interest in now retro-90s looks. She previously posted a tutorial on how to get a “wintry” eyeliner look for an elevated evening out.
