Victoria Justice is setting the record straight. The actress is trying to stop speculation about her and former co-star Ariana Grande’s alleged year-long feud.

The two actresses starred together in the Nickelodeon sitcom ‘Victorious’ for three years from 2013. In 2017, a clip of the cast being interviewed was edited and went viral, giving the impression of a feud between the two women.

In an interview with E! News at the Revolve Festival last week, Justice cleared the air about the video and her alleged rivalry with her co-star. She explains how the rumors have always been “so dumb.”

“When that ‘I Think We All Sing’ meme came out, I think that was so annoying,” Victoria told E! News. “Ariana texted me and we both were like, ‘This is so stupid.’”

The viral video

The viral video dates back to 2011, when the two, alongside co-stars Elizabeth Gillies and Daniella Monet, are being interviewed and discussing how Grande sings everything for the show.

In the clip, Gillies says, “And it’s a good thing, she has a beautiful voice.” Monet then countered that Gillies also sings all the time.

After that, Justice chimes in with “I think we all sing”. Her delivery of the line and body language sent online fans into a frenzy believing that the two had tension and were feuding off camera.

However, in the full clip Justice was replying to someone saying that Elizabeth also sings and her body language was the same throughout the whole clip. Ariana and Monet also agree with Justice in the longer version.

According to Justice, her line was “taken out of context” to feed into a cliche narrative of pitting women against each other.

“I think the biggest rumor is this whole narrative that was created with me being jealous of her and of us not being friends,” she said.

She went on to add, “I feel like it’s this constant story of the media and people wanting to pit people against each other, and it’s just so not even relevant anymore now.”

A ‘Victorious’ reunion?

The entire cast of ‘Victorious’ remain on good terms and have reunited multiple times since the show went off the air. In 2020, the group commemorated the 10th anniversary of the show’s premiere in a Zoom call reunion.
