What category is Taylor Swift nominated for at the 2024 Golden Globes?

Pop icon Taylor Swift in contention to become the inaugural winner of a new award at the 2024 Golden Globes, which take place in Beverly Hills this weekend.
Which Golden Globe is Swift up for?
Swift’s Eras Tour movie, which documents part of the singer-songwriter’s ongoing global concert tour, is among eight films that have been nominated for the Golden Globes’ Cinematic and Box Office Achievement prize, which is one of two categories that will be making their debut in the 81st edition of the film and TV awards gala.
The Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award is contested by the year’s highest-grossing movies. To be eligible for the gong, a picture must finish the qualifying year with total receipts of at least $150m worldwide, of which at least $100m must have been accrued at US box offices.
Released in October, the Eras Tour movie has earned $179m in the US and just over $250m globally, per Box Office Mojo - takings that have led Guinness World Records to recognise it as the top-grossing concert film of all time.
Which other movies have been nominated?
The seven other candidates for the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award are: Barbie; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3; John Wick: Chapter 4; Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1; Oppenheimer; Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse; and The Super Mario Bros Movie.
This is Swift’s fifth Golden Globes nomination, and her first outside of the Best Original Song category. The 34-year-old is yet to be a winner.
Will Swift attend Golden Globes with Travis Kelce?
Sources close to Swift have told the entertainment news outlet Page Six that the Pennsylvania native will be at the Golden Globes, but won’t be joined by her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce.
Although Kelce will be in Los Angeles for the Kansas City Chiefs’ match-up against the LA Chargers earlier in the day, Page Six has been told that the tight end will return to Missouri with the team immediately after the game.

Alongside the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award, the Golden Globes’ organisers have created the prize for the Best Performance in Stand-up Comedy on Television. Ricky Gervais, Trevor Noah, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman and Wanda Sykes are the first nominees for the accolade.
Golden Globes 2024: when and where?
The 81st annual Golden Globes take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday 7 January 2024. Hosted by the comedian and actor Jo Koy, the event is due to begin at 8pm ET/5pm PT, and will be broadcast in the US by CBS and Paramount+.
The 2024 Golden Globes will be the first to be held since the disbanding of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the awards’ controversy-plagued former show runners. The ceremony is now organised by Dick Clark Productions and Eldridge Industries, which took full control of the Globes in June.
