Officials confirmed ‘John Wick 4′ star Lance Reddick was found in his home on Friday. He was 60.
Actor Lance Reddick has died at the age of 60.
What caused Lance Reddick’s death?
The actor was found dead in his Studio City home in Los Angeles, California on Friday morning at around 9:30 a.m., according to TMZ, who first broke the news.
Although the actor has never publicly spoken about any health issues before his passing, he recently missed a press event on Wednesday this week, but appeared lively and well in recent social media posts.
His representative later confirmed that he died of natural causes at his home in Los Angeles.
Social media activity
Just before his passing, Reddick was active on social media. On Thursday, he posted several photos of himself with his dogs. He referenced his role in the upcoming ‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ movie and talked about spoiling his dogs in the caption.
Just earlier on Wednesday, the actor posted another video of himself and his dogs. The clip was around the time he was supposed to be attending the ‘John Wick: Chapter 4′ premiere in New York City. He didn’t mention why he chose not to attend in the video.
Reddick plays the role of Charon in the fourth instalment of the popular ‘John Wick’ franchise. While he missed the red carpet premiere, he was also scheduled to talk about his role on Kelly Clarkson’s talk show next week.
Previous roles
Before his role in the ‘John Wick’ franchise, Reddick had numerous previous acting roles starting in 1992. He is known for playing Detective Johnny Basil on ‘Oz’ from 1997 to 2003.
He is perhaps best known for his role as Cedric Daniels in ‘The Wire’, which he starred in from 2002 to 2008. Reddick also acted in ‘Lost’ from 2004 to 2010 and had numerous roles within the ‘Law & Order’ franchises. He was also set to portray Zeus in ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’.
Reddick has also had numerous roles in video games including 50 Cent’s 2009 game ‘50 Cent: Blood on the Sand,’ and the ‘Destiny’ franchise which released several games from 2014 until 2023.
Reddick’s wife of over 10 years, Stephanie Reddick has yet to make a statement regarding his passing. However, she is known for keeping a private life and being absent from social media platforms.
