What did Taylor Swift say about Lady Gaga pregnancy rumors?

Taylor Swift has come out in defense of Lady Gaga following the Born this Way singer’s decision to upload a video to her official TikTok account in an attempt to clear up rumors that she might be pregnant. Taylor, who is about to embark on the UK leg of her Eras Tour, left a comment on the post as a show of support.

In recent days, social media has been flooded with rumors suggesting that Lady Gaga could be expecting her first child. The rumors were sparked by a series of photographs in which the singer can be seen wearing a tight black dress, revealing what that looked like a baby bump. However, Gaga took to her socials to end the rumors and clarify that she is not expecting a child.

“Not pregnant, just down bad crying at the gym,” wrote the 38-year-old star referencing a lyric from Taylor’s song Down Bad from her recently-released Tortured Poets Department Anthology. In her message, Gaga also encouraged her 9.3 million followers to vote, adding: “Register to vote at www.headcount.org.”

Not long after Gaga’s video went viral, fans of the Mother Monster spotted a comment from Taylor Swift’s official profile. The You Belong With Me singer defended her fellow artist by pointing out that she owes an explanation for how her body look - and more to the point, nor does any woman.

“Can we all agree that its invasive & irresponsible to comment on a woman’s body. Gaga doesn’t owe anyone an explanation & neither does any woman,” Swift wrote, accompanied by a kiss emoji.

Pregnancy rumors began after the publication of various photographs of Gaga at her sister’s wedding rehearsal dinner. In the images, the star wears a tight black dress that reveals what, at first, looked like a pregnant bump. Later, the rumors intensified when they came out Gaga’s old statements and her desire to become a mother with her current partner, businessman Michael Polansky, come to light.

Gaga has been dating Polansky since 2020 and is currently busy working on a number of projects but she has alluded to becoming a mother in the past, telling InStyle magazine in 2020. “I will say I am very excited to have kids. I look forward to being a mom. Isn’t it incredible what we can do? We can hold a human inside and grow it. Then it comes out, and it’s our job to keep it alive.”

For now, the 38-year-old is busy working on her new album, which she promises will be a departure from her last studio album Dawn of Chromatica, which was released in 2021. “I have written so many songs, I’ve been producing so many songs, and it’s nothing like anything that I’ve ever made before,” she told Access Hollywood. “I love to break genre and I love to explore music. There’s something really beautiful and knowing that you will be loved no matter what you do.”
