What is the name of Paris Hilton’s baby boy?

Paris Hilton announced on social media that she and her husband Carter Reum had welcomed a baby boy into their family, but had been quiet about his name.

On Wednesday, the socialite shared an excerpt from her upcoming memoir ‘Paris: The Memoir’ via her iHeartRadio podcast ‘This Is Paris’ revealing the name given to her and Reum’s first child as Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum.

The meaning behind the name

“If all goes well, by the time you read this, Carter and I will have a baby boy,” Hilton reads from her memoir. “We plan to name him Phoenix, a name that I decided on years ago when I was searching cities, countries and states on a map looking for something to go with Paris and London.”

“Phoenix has a few good pop culture reference points,” she continued. “but more importantly it’s the bird that flames out and then rises from the ashes to fly again. I want my son to grow up knowing that disaster and triumph go around and come around throughout our lives. And that this should give us great hope for the future.”

Hilton also explained that her son’s middle name, Barron, honors her grandfather, Barron Hilton.

“He was always my mentor. I looked up to my grandfather so much, and we were so close, and I miss him every day,” Hilton said. “So, I really wanted to honor him by having his name in my first son’s name. So there you go. My beautiful baby boy’s name is Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum.”

Matching city names

On the podcast episode, Hilton said she had been dreaming of her future children’s names since she was a little girl, saying she had always imagined naming a future daughter London, and wanting all her children to also have city-related names.

But for boy’s names, she recalls having a harder time settling on a name.

“I love exotic names, and I think it’s cute to all have different city names,” she told listeners.

“But trying to figure out a boy’s name was really difficult [...] But over a decade ago, I thought of this amazing name. It’s such a beautiful name, it’s so unique. I love that it’s not only a city, but it also has other meanings that are just beautiful.”

Hilton and Reum’s son was born last month on January 24.

“I’m so happy I found the perfect partner. Carter, he is such an angel and such an incredible father,” she continued. “It’s so cute seeing them together and I just love this baby so much. He’s laying on my chest and looking up into my eyes, my heart just melts.”
