What surprise songs did Taylor Swift perform in Tampa for her ‘Eras Tour’?
Find out which surprise songs Taylor Swift performed at her final show in Tampa.
Taylor Swift’s wildly popular ‘Eras Tour’ continued at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Saturday was the last of three shows scheduled at the venue.
With a setlist that’s over three hours long, Swift has been keeping her fans on their toes by performing two surprise songs during the acoustic portion of her concert on every night of her tour.
What songs did Swift perform on night three in Tampa?
The 33-year-old singer performed ‘Mad Woman’ from her 2020 album ‘Folklore’ alongside special guest Aaron Dessner from The National. Swift performed the vocals with Dessner on the piano.
This was followed up with ‘Mean’ from Swift’s 2010 album ‘Speak Now’.
What other surprise songs did Swift sing in Tampa?
Night one in Tampa saw ‘Speak Now’ from the album of the same name and ‘Treacherous’ from Swift’s 2012 album ‘Red’.
Night two saw ‘You’re On Your Own, Kid’ and ‘The Great War’ from the 2022 album ‘Midnights’. The latter song was also performed with Dessner, who joined Swift on stage for two of the three nights.
“You guys are watching the greatest performer on Earth do the greatest show of all time,” Dessner told the crowd.
Swift introduced Dessner to Ed Sheeran
Dessner has been a collaborator and producer for Swift for years, and she even introduced him to English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.
Though Sheeran was initially reluctant to work with Dessner, the two met over dinner and inspiration seemed to hit. Dessner sent over instrumentals that would be used for Sheeran’s upcoming album ‘Subtract’.
“As soon as I got them, I loved the whole overall vibe of it and knew that one day I would write to them, but at the time I was finishing up what I thought was ‘Subtract,’ so would put them on the back burner for a bit,” Sheeran recalled.
“Then, as I said in my announcement post, a lot of things started happening in my personal life that I just felt the need to vent about on song and write diaristically about them. I had Aaron’s instrumentals, so I just started writing, and writing, and writing.”
