Taylor Swift returned to the stage for her ‘Eras Tour’ on Friday night, as the singer performed the first of three shows scheduled at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia this weekend.

As always, Swift dedicated a portion of her concert to some acoustic performances featuring two surprise songs, one of which was performed on the guitar and the other on the piano.

What surprise songs did Swift perform?

Swift’s first surprise song of the evening was ‘Other Side of the Door’. The song is from her 2008 album ‘Fearless’.

After that, Swift treated fans to ‘Coney Island’ as the second surprise song for the evening. The song is from her 2020 album, ‘Evermore’.

Swift fans watch her show without tickets

While there were plenty of Swifties inside the Mercedes-Benz Stadium to take in her performance, quite a few fans gathered outside the venue to watch the ‘Eras Tour’.

A large group of people, said to be over 100, gathered outside the venue where the gigantic Falcon statue stands to watch Swift perform on the halo big screen that can be seen through the translucent window panels of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

For some, they were likely getting a sneak-peek of what they can expect from the concert when they head to the show on Saturday and Sunday.

For others who perhaps didn’t get tickets, it was their chance to see Swift in action from outside the venue without having to pay for a ticket.

Busy concert night in Atlanta

There was no shortage of star power in Atlanta on Friday night, as Swift wasn’t the only big name to perform in the city.

While Swift hit the stage at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Janet Jackson continued her ‘Together Again’ tour at State Farm Arena.

Jackson was scheduled to play at the venue on Thursday night, but those plans were changed due to the Atlanta Hawks taking the Boston Celtics to Game 6 in their NBA Playoffs series.

As a result, there was no shortage of traffic in the city, with officials urging people to take public transportation as all the parking lots in the area were sold out.

Officials expect around 180,000 fans will attend Swift’s concerts over the next three days given they are all sold-out. It’s the first time anyone has sold out three consecutive nights at the stadium.
