Taylor Swift’s highly acclaimed ‘Eras Tour’ continued at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee – Swift’s hometown. Friday, May 5 marked the first of three scheduled concerts at the venue.

The set list consists of ten acts and 44 songs, spanning Swift’s entire music career. The ninth act features two surprise songs from her discography, one of which is played on the guitar and the other on piano.

Swift performed ‘Sparks Fly’ from her 2010 album ‘Speak Now’.

This was followed up with ‘Teardrops on my Guitar’ from Swift’s 2006 self-titled album.

Nashville honors Swift

Swift has been honored in various ways by city administrations at different stops of her tour and Nashville was no exception.

One of the largest museums and research centers, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, opened an exhibit titled ‘Through Taylor Swift’s Eras’. The exhibit features outfits from each of Swift’s album eras.

Additionally, Mayor John Cooper dubbed May 5 to 7 as ‘Taylor Swift Homecoming Weekend’. He even placed a bench in Centennial Park dedicated to “Nashville and Swift’s long-standing relationship” by referencing lyrics to ‘Invisible String’.

Swift announced ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ album release

During her first performance in Nashville, Swift announced the re-recording of her ‘Speak Now’ album, which is slated to release July 7.

This marks the third of Swift’s albums to be re-recorded. The pop singer previously re-recorded her 2008 album ‘Fearless’ and her 2012 album ‘Red’.

Due to a contract she signed at 14-years-old, Swift doesn’t have ownership over her first six albums. However, after signing with Republic Records in 2018, who allow Swift to retain the rights to her new music, the singer has decided to re-record her old songs to claim ownership of them.
