2023 could hardly have gone much better for Taylor Swift. She was named Person of the Year by TIME magazine, she was the top artist on major streaming platforms with 26.1 million global streams and became the first female artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify. On top of that, her sell-out 60-concert Eras Tour was the biggest North American tour of the year and she even found love with NFL star Travis Kelce.

The “Swift effect” on NFL viewership

January 2024 was rather quieter, by her standards, with the Eras Tour on a short break following the end of its South American leg in São Paulo, Brazil on 26 November. Swift instead became the Kansas City Chiefs’ most high-profile fan as she cheered on quarterback Kelce…and seemingly played her part in increasing NFL viewership.

With the Swift-Kelce power couple as a sub-plot, the AFC divisional game between the Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills on 21 January become the most watched divisional playoff game of all time, while Kansas City’s win over the Baltimore Ravens a week later is now the most watched AFC Championship Game ever.

Will Taylor Swift attend Super Bowl LVIII?

February, which Swift started by picking up two Grammy Awards, will see the 34-year-old get back to the grind as the Eras Tour starts back up again, while there is also the small matter of the Super Bowl, which takes place a little too close for comfort to the last of four dates she will play in Tokyo, Japan between 6 and 10 February. Not that that is expected to stop her from being attendance in Las Vegas, though.

After the NFL championship game in Nevada on 11 February, Swift will jet back over to the other side of the world for seven more shows, all of which will take place in Australia. The “Shake If Off” songstress will play three gigs in Melbourne, before moving onto Sydney for four further shows.

From there, she’ll have a few days off before completing the Asia leg of the Eras Tour in Singapore at the start of March, with more dates to follow in Europe and North America between May and December, when Swift will play the last of 151 concerts in Vancouver, Canada.
