The upcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards will be honoring the best acting talent in both film and television on Sunday, February 26.

Coming right after the Golden Globes and before the Oscars, the SAG awards give a good idea of how the Oscars will go, with many past SAG winners going on to win Oscars.

Here’s when and where to tune in to watch this year’s SAG awards.

When are the SAG Awards and how to watch them?

The 29th annual SAG Awards will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, California.

For the first time in the award show’s history, it will be available to watch live on Netflix’s YouTube channel, beginning at 8pm ET/5 pm PST.

It will also be available to watch on Netflix’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Who’s hosting the SAG awards?

The 2023 edition of the show will continue the show’s tradition of having no formal host, which began three years ago. The show’s only hosts were Kristen Bell in 2018, and Megan Mullally in 2019. The show’s producers made the decision to keep the show hostless in the desire to wrap it up within two hours.

Instead, a lineup of presenters will keep the audience entertained throughout the evening, including Michelle Yeoh, Colin Farrell, Jessica Chastain, Andrew Garfield, Rooney Mara among others.

What are the SAG Awards?

The SAG awards were first awarded in 1995, in recognition of film and television that premiered in 1994. At the inaugural show, the awards show statuette known as “the actor” was unveiled.

The award show presents 13 awards in both film and television categories, with winners voted by SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists), an American labor union that represents roughly 160,000 actors, journalists, radio hosts, singers, models, and other media related professionals.

The current voters represent a merging of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists in 2012.
