Megan Thee Stallion will be hosting the 2024 MTV Music Awards with the ceremony taking place in New York City.
The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards are set to take place at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York City on Wednesday, 11 September with the event having been moved back 24 hours to avoid clashing with the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris (on Tuesday, 10 September).
Taylor Swift leads the way in terms of nominations, with the ten she has received including Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Artist of the Year and Best Pop Artist. The singer-songwriter won a record nine prizes in 2023 and could, in theory, go one better this time around.
Post Malone is the second most nominated artist with nine. Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem and Ariana Grande are all up for six awards, and SZA and Megan Thee Stallion have five nominations each.
Performing at the 2024 MTV VMAs
Eminem, Sabrina Carpenter and host Megan Thee Stallion, will be performing at the ceremony, with the Detroit rapper announced as the opening act on Monday.
They will be joined on stage by “Señorita” collaborators Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes, Colombian reggaeton sensation Karol G, rapper LL Cool J and veteran rock star Lenny Kravitz, among others.
