When does ‘Strange Darling’ come out? Release date, cast and trailer
Strange Darling is a American horror-thriller movie written and directed by JT Mollner and set for an 23 August release.
Shot in location in Portland, Oregon in 2022 with director JT Mollner working from his own script, Strange Darling was shot entirely on 35mm film by director of photography and film cameo, Giovanni Ribisi.
The movie is described as a ‘cat-and-mouse’ thriller and a “dramatization of the last known months of a serial killer” and features a cast including: Willa Fitzgerald, Kyle Gallner, Barbara Hershey and Ed Begley Jr.
Initial plaudits for the movie have been positive with a seal of approval from the ‘king of horror’ himself with Stephen King calling Strange Darling a ‘clever masterpiece’ with horror director Mike Flanagan claiming that the film is a: “sublimely brilliant masterpiece”.
The film has also amassed a Rotten Tomatoes score of 100% based on 22 reviews with plenty of superlatives on display with many citing Kyle Gallner’s performance as the The Demon.
Strange Darling gets a nationwide cinema release on 23 August (2024).
