When will the new ‘Depp v. Heard’ documentary be released on Netflix?
The defamation trial between actors and ex-spouses Johnny Depp and Amber Heard will be scrutinised in a three-part docuseries.
The relationship between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and the subsequent high-profile defamation trial between the actors and ex-spouses, will be the subject of the upcoming Netflix documentary series titled Depp vs. Heard, which you won’t have to wait too much longer to watch.
When will Depp. vs Heard be released?
Directed by Emma Cooper, the docuseries will be available to stream from Wednesday 16 August in the United States (and indeed worldwide), with its main focus the near two-month trial that saw the Hollywood stars trade insults and accuse one another of all kinds of things, including defamation and domestic abuse.
Depp vs. Heard will analyse the controversial court case and examine the details of the allegations made by both, as well as trying to scrutinise a number of the statements made by the main protagonists. More than 200 hours of the trial, which was livestreamed when news cameras were allowed in the courtroom, will be summarised in the three-part series.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard: where are they now?
Both actors’ lives, and indeed acting careers, have been profoundly effected by the trial. Heard has moved to Madrid, Spain, where she lives in a small house in an upmarket neighbourhood with her daughter. Depp, meanwhile, hasn’t been on the big screen since 2015 and has instead been focusing on his music career. Although it came to light several weeks ago that one member of his band had been suspended having been found unconscious in his hotel room in Budapest, Hungary.
