Netflix’s hit show Sex Education is back for a new season later this year and fans are eagerly awaiting its release.

The streaming service has confirmed that the fourth season of Sex Education will be available to stream from Thursday, 21 September 2023.

We don’t yet know whether all episodes will be viewable on this date. Streaming platforms have increasingly pivoted towards the staged release structure to heighten anticipation for episodes.

As always, season four of Sex Education will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.

Will this be the last season of Sex Education?

Fans have been waiting for two years for the fourth edition of the show. The third season was released in September 2021 with eight episodes detailing life in Moordale.

Sex Education viewers have just two more months to wait for season four, but may be sad to learn that the upcoming episodes will be the last.

“We are incredibly proud of Sex Education and feel indebted to our brilliant writers, cast and crew who put so much heart into making every episode,” said the show’s creator Laurie Nunn in a letter to fans.

They have worked tirelessly to bring you the final series, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”

So what can fans expect from the iconic show’s final offering? In a word, change. Ahead of the release Nunn has urged viewers to consider how much has happened during the course of the show, as the characters have grown up before our eyes.

“If you go back and watch where they all started, they’ve really grown up so much and changed so much,” Nunn explained.

“In Series 4, we’re seeing our characters getting closer to launching themselves into the adult world. They’re right on the precipice of leaving being a teenager behind, and with that comes a lot of pressure.”
