When will “Supercharged” the new album by The Offspring be released? Price and where to buy it

Following the release of the band’s third studio album Smash (1994), which contained the group’s first major hit single “Come Out and Play”, The Offspring exploded on the alternative rock scene with the 1994 album eventually going on to become one of the best-selling albums released on an independent record label (Epitaph), selling over 11 million copies worldwide and helping to propel alternative 90′s punk rock into the mainstream.

A wave of punk bands exploded at the time with the band part of a scene that included the likes of Bad Religion, Green Day, NOFX, Rancid, Social Distortion, The Vandals, and many others.

Formed in California in 1984, it took a decade of touring heavily before the band’s breakthrough and fast-forward forty years, the group are still a going concern as they release their eleventh studio record.

Supercharged

Earlier this year, singer and founding member Dexter Holland confirmed that the band’s eleventh studio album was completed and that they were working on the cover art and album title with the first single from the album, “Make It All Right”, released in June. Two subsequent singles have seen the light of day as a taster for the full length release with “Light It Up” getting an August release with “Come to Brazil” launched last month.

The album was produced by the legendary Bob Rock who has worked with the likes of Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Bryan Adams, The Cult and 311 among others with the album recorded in three different studios: Hawaii’s Maui, Vancouver in Canada, and the band’s home studio in Huntington Beach (California).

Early reviews for Supercharged

The initial reviews for the album have been solid but not glowing with predictability cited as a minor flaw.

Classic Rock Magazine: “There are no new tricks, but there’s plenty of life in these old dogs yet”.

Kerrang!: “True, it’s also an often familiar-sounding form – that same chord progression at varying speeds, faster than Bad Religion, slower than NOFX – but they also sound like themselves again”.

Sputnikmusic: “Supercharged is a surprisingly decent, albeit flawed record. There are elements of greatness at the heart of it, but the problems soon arise when The Offspring attempt to veer away from their wheelhouse of driving riffs and infectious hooks”.
