In the nearly 30 years since ‘Scream’ was released to horrify and delight viewers in 1996, the franchise has gone on to be so successful that its multiple sequels have created a new generation of fans excited to see cameos by the original cast.

With the highly anticipated ‘Scream VI’ coming out in theaters on Friday, here’s a look at where the original cast is now, and what other roles you can see them in.

Neve Campbell

Campbell’s role in 1996′s ‘Scream’ helped to establish the actress in the world of acting. In ‘Scream’, she plays Sidney Prescott, the main character who is hunted by Ghostface and must dodge a number of life-threatening attacks.

Since ‘Scream’, Campbell has starred in a number of TV roles. She had a starring role in ‘House of Cards’, and has starred in ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ since 2022.

Drew Barrymore

Barrymore has been acting since she was five years old. Her most notable role was in ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’, when she was just seven years old. She then went on to star in a number of hit 90s films, including ‘Scream’, where she played Casey Becker in what has since become an iconic scene when she answers Ghostface’s phone call in her kitchen.

Since then, Barrymore has gone on to star in a number of movie and TV roles. Most recently, she starred in the Netflix horror-comedy series ‘Santa Clarita Diet’ from 2017-2019. She also hosts her own talk show called ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’.

Courteney Cox

Cox is perhaps most famous for her role as Monica Geller on the NBC sitcom ‘Friends’, airing between 1994-2004. But in that time she also played Gale Weathers in ‘Scream’, a fame-hungry journalist turned friend to Sidney Prescott who wishes to unmask the mysterious Ghostface.

Cox played Jules Cobb on ‘Cougar Town’, and most recently appeared in the ‘Friends: Reunion’ special. She’s also had multiple guest appearances where she played herself, including on ‘Modern Family’, ‘Celebrity Name Game’ and ‘Celebrity Escape Room’.

David Arquette

At the time ‘Scream’ was released in 1996, Arquette was a rising star who had appeared in hit 90s shows including ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, the films ‘Never Been Kissed’ and ‘See Spot Run’ to name a few. But ‘Scream’ helped propel Arquette into stardom, and he has since reprised his role of ‘Dewey Riley’ in the franchise’s many sequels.

Arquette was also a professional wrestler and retired from the sport in 2021. He was also married to Courteney Cox, and they have one daughter together. They divorced in 2012.
