Where to watch the ‘Titanic’ 25th anniversary re-release

Catch the ‘Titanic’ 25th anniversary re-release when it hits theaters on February 10.

It’s been 25 years since James Cameron’s epic romance disaster film ‘Titanic’ was released to critical acclaim.

The film is being re-released in 3D on Friday, February 10, 2023, with Cameron choosing the date to honor one of its highest-grossing days during its initial run- Valentine’s Day in 1998.

A celebration of love

Cameron has insisted that ‘Titanic’ is ultimately a film about love, which also ties in with its re-release close to Valentine’s Day.

[It’s] a celebration of love. It’s a celebration of the movie, at the same time. And it’s a celebration of the success of the movie as well,” Cameron said in an interview with SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show.

Perhaps another reason for the Valentine’s Day release is an effort to avoid competition with Cameron’s other film, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, which was released on December 16, 2022.

Modern improvements on a classic

Cameron explained that the film had previously been re-released in 2012 as a 3D film, so much of the work was already done.

For the 2023 re-release, modern touches include a 3D 4K HDR presentation with Dolby Atmos sound and a higher frame rate.

Fans who want a more rounded experience can also pay a little extra to experience the film in IMAX 3D, which uses more advanced video and sound technologies, not to mention a bigger screen that further immerses you into the drama unfolding.

Other ways to watch the re-release

While it’s not available on any streaming service, the film is available to buy or rent on video services such as Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, and YouTube.

Those who are lucky enough to own 3D TVs can also purchase a 3D Blu-ray version of the film. Since the film is being re-released in 4K, there will also likely be a 4K release available for purchase and rent in the near future.
