Who are the hosts for the 2024 Met Gala?
Some familiar faces, stars from the stage and screen, will be hosting this year’s event which takes place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday.
This year’s MET Gala is almost upon us - the select guest list of invitees will be spending today and tomorrow trying on and making last minute adjustments to their outfits so that they look a million dollars when they hit the red carpet outside New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday. Organized by Vogue magazine, the fundraising event unites the best designers from around the world, their muses, models, fashion icons, A-list celebs and industry top dogs.
This year’s exhibition is entitled: ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’ - a collection of 250 rare garments from the Costume Institute’s archives, including designs by Schiaparelli, Dior, etc. and will be inaugurated on Friday 10 May. Before that, we are guaranteed to many glamorous outfits, vintage items and brand new designs out on the red carpet.

As ever, the event will be chaired by Vogue editor Anna Wintour. She will be joined by hosts: Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth. Of the four, only Australian actor Hemsworth hasn’t attended before. J-Lo and Zendaya are seasoned Met gala veterans having attended numerous editions. The singer made her gala debut in 1999 and this will be the 15th time she has been invited to Wintour’s fashion night out. Challengers star Zendaya meanwhile first graced the crimson carpet in 2015 and has been present pretty much every year since then. This will be Bad Bunny’s third consecutive appearance at the Met Gala.
Acting as honorary chairs for the evening will be Loewe Creative Director Jonathan Anderson and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew.
The fashion world’s glitziest stars will be sashaying down the red carpet when the gala gets underway at 6 p.m. ET. The event will be streamed live on Vogue’s official website (www.vogue.com), as well as on their social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. The 2024 Met Gala will take place on Monday 6 May at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. In the days after the event, Vogue will be publishing several photo galleries with images showing red carpet looks, gala highlights, interviews and reels.
