Who is Bad Bunny’s ex-girlfriend Carliz de la Cruz?

What you need to know about Bad Bunny’s ex-girlfriend, Carliz de la Cruz.

Update:
¿Quién es Carliz de la Cruz, la ex-novia de Bad Bunny que lo demanda por 40 millones de dólares?

Bad Bunny is being sued by his ex-girlfriend Carliz de la Cruz for unauthorized use of her voice in his music.

De la Cruz is asking for $40 million, as the lawsuit claims a recording of her saying “Bad Bunny, baby” was used in tracks ‘Pa Ti’, released in 2016, and ‘Dos Mil 16′, which was released in 2022.

She also states that Bad Bunny has used her voice in promotions, live shows, television, radio, social media, streaming platforms and more.

Who is Carliz de la Cruz?

According to De la Cruz’s Instagram account, she is currently an attorney based in Puerto Rico.

The account has turned off all comments underneath posts, though it isn’t clear if that took place before or after news of the lawsuit broke.

“In love with make-up, NBA, and chocolate,” reads the profile’s bio.

She was accepted into the University of Puerto Rico’s law school the same year when Bad Bunny joined the record label Rimas Music.

Her profile also includes pictures from her travels to the United States and Europe, and one of the posts reveals she graduated from law school in 2020.

Bad Bunny and Carliz de la Cruz’s relationship

The couple began dating back in 2011 and later attended the University of Puerto Rico in 2012. During that time, they worked at a grocery store in the town of Arebibo together.

The lawsuit states that during these early years, Bad Bunny would seek De La Cruz’s opinions about his songs. She was also reportedly in charge of his scheduling, as well as handling invoices and contracts.

It also states that Bad Bunny asked Carliz to marry him in 2016, but that she ended the relationship in May of that year after she was accepted into the University of Puerto Rico’s law school.

That coincided with when Bad Bunny was signed to Prima Music.

Although they briefly got back together in 2017, they later called it quits that same year.
