Who is Cole Tucker? Vanessa Hudgens says “I do” to pro baseball player

Hudgens and the MLB shortstop got engaged in February this year with sources claiming they married in Mexico on Saturday.

Actress and singer Vanessa Hudgens and her MLB player boyfriend Cole Tucker got married in Tulum, Mexico on Saturday, according to sources close to People magazine.

The High School Musical star was snapped on a beach wearing a casual white dress over the weekend, with co-star Monique Coleman’s Instagram story from Tulum, which depicted a similar setting, adding to rumours they had indeed tied the knot.

It was revealed by TMZ in February this year that the pair had gotten engaged, with an insider telling the outlet Tucker had popped the question sometime at the end of 2022.

The happy couple were in Paris on a romantic trip in November last year, with speculation suggesting that was the moment the baseball shortstop got down on one knee.

Hudgens’ famous partners

Hudgens’ love life has long been at the center of attention for the media, given her five-year relationship with Zac Effron from 2005 to 2010.

After that, she spent eight years with actor Austin Butler before they broke up in 2019.

Two years later, she announced a relationship with Tucker through a post on Instagram. The couple met on a Zoom meditation group call, with Hudgens revealing she made the first move.

“I get on the Zoom, and I’m like, ‘Who is that?’” she said on The Drew Barrymore Show in May 2021. “I found him, and we started talking.

“If I want something or someone, I’m going after them. I fully just slid into his DMs and was like, ‘Hey, it was nice to meet you.’ So I think there is no shame in making the first move.”

Who is Cole Tucker?

Cole Tucker was born on July 3, 1996 in Phoenix, Arizona. That’s where Tucker grew up and attended Mountain Pointe High School.

There, Tucker played for the school’s baseball team before committing to play college baseball for the University of Arizona.

Originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2014, Tucker is a professional baseball player who signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies in December 2022 but elected to become a free agent at the start of October.

Tucker has two brothers, Quinn Tucker and younger brother Carson, who is also a baseball player. Carson was selected in the first round of the 2020 Major League Baseball draft by the Cleveland Guardians.

Carson thanked his brother Cole for helping him during the draft process given he had gone through it a few years earlier.

“It can be pretty busy and frustrating sometimes with scouts calling you and being busy with that,” Carson said in a June 2020 interview with MLB.

“But having him and my family - my family’s been through it, obviously - work with me definitely helped me through that.”
