As the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jason Kelce prepares to retire from NFL after 13 seasons, we bring you the lowdown on his spouse, Kylie McDevitt.
After Monday’s playoffs defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles team captain Jason Kelce had reportedly told team-mates that he’s retiring from the NFL. That is still not official, but we will know for sure on March 4, 2024 when he explains his future plans at a press conference.
The 36-year-old, who was a sixth-round Draft pick by the Eagles in 2011, is set to call time on a 13-season career that yielded seven Pro Bowl selections - and victory with Philadelphia at Super Bowl LII.
During Kelce’s time in the NFL, he hasn’t only had plenty to smile about on the field. In his personal life, the center - who is the brother of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce - has enjoyed the love and support of wife Kylie McDevitt, the mother of his three children.
Who is Kylie McDevitt?
According to PEOPLE magazine, McDevitt hails from Narberth, Pennsylvania. The 32-year-old studied at Cabrini University, where she majored in communications. She graduated in 2017.
Committed to the community
Together with her husband, McDevitt runs a foundation, (Be)Philly, which seeks to improve the lives of youngsters in Philadelphia. She has also played a key role in raising money for the Eagles Autism Foundation, a charitable initiative established by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Talented sportswoman
Like Kelce, McDevitt boasts sporting talent. During her period at college, she was a successful field hockey player. As is detailed on her athlete profile on the Cabrini University website, her hockey skills earned her call-ups to the All-CSAC First Team and ECAC South All-Stars First Team.
Relationship with Kelce
According to the Amazon Prime Video documentary Kelce, which chronicles the NFL star’s 2022/23 season, Jason and Kylie met on Tinder. After matching on the dating app, they went out to a bar with a couple of friends - but their first date was a complete disaster.
Speaking on the feature-length doc, Kylie revealed that Jason fell asleep at the bar - “like just, out, like asleep, asleep”.
However, he later messaged her to apologise and ask for a second chance, and the rest is history. The couple got married at Philadelphia’s Logan Hotel in April 2018, and now have a trio of daughters: Wyatt Elizabeth, four; Elliotte Ray, two; and Bennett, who turns one in February.
