Whose idea was Travis Kelce’s on-stage appearance at Taylor Swift concert?
During the latest episode of his podcast, NFL star Kelce discussed his surprise cameo during one of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts at London’s Wembley Stadium in June.
Travis Kelce surprised Taylor Swift fans late last month when he made an on-stage appearance during one of his girlfriend’s Eras Tour concerts in London.
What did Kelce say about his Eras Tour cameo?
Nearly two weeks on from his cameo at Wembley Stadium, the NFL star has revealed that it was he who first broached the idea to Swift. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end discussed how his role in the concert came about on his podcast “New Heights”, which he shares with his brother Jason.
“She was like, ‘Would you seriously be up for doing something like that?’ And I was just like, ‘What? I would love to do that. Are you kidding me? I’ve seen the show enough - might as well put me to work here.’” Kelce continued: “Sure enough, she found the perfect part of the show for me to come in.”
What happened in Kelce’s Eras Tour appearance?
Kelce’s Eras Tour cameo occurred during Swift’s June 23 concert in the UK capital. Sporting a tuxedo and a top hat, he could be seen helping backing dancers carry the singer-songwriter across the stage during the intro to her song “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” He also joined Swift for an outfit-change segment in which he was tasked with applying make-up to her face.
“The golden rule was: do not drop Taylor,” Kelce joked on “New Heights”, adding: “Shout out to ‘Tay’ for letting me jump on stage with her. Who knows? It might not be the last time!”

Recently, Kelce opened up about what it’s like to be in a relationship with one of the world’s biggest stars. “You want to keep things private but at the same time I’m not here to hide anything,” the 34-year-old told Barstool Sports’ “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast. “That’s my girl, that’s my lady. I’m proud of that.”
Kelce also revealed that he truly began to fall in love with the pop icon when he witnessed “how genuine she is around friends, family”.
“It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention,” he said, “and she just keeps it so chill and so cool. And that’s something I can admire for sure.”
