Ryan Seacrest seemed to rub ‘American Idol’ fans the wrong way during Monday night’s episode.

Why ‘American Idol’ fans aren’t happy with Ryan Seacrest

Monday’s episode was the 14th of Season 21, titled ‘Top 12 Reveal!”.

Seacrest upset fans of the show when he was speaking to some of the contestants about the fact they may not make it on.

“You sang lose you to love me. We might lose you tonight,” the 48-year-old told one of the contestants.

The comment was met with disapproval from fans online, who questioned why Seacrest was so harsh with the competitors.

“We might lose you tonight’ was so nasty omg,” wrote one Reddit user, while another wrote: “RYAN THAT WAS JUST EVIL WTF.”

“Ryan not softening any blows lmao,” while another joked: “Ryan come ON. Be more clear when you’re crushing these people.”

“That was mean Ryan,” read another comment.

Despite the criticism, not everyone was upset with Seacrest, who has served as ‘American Idol’ host since the show premiered back in 2002.

“Ryan keeping this episode moving at breakneck pace without it feeling rushed. That’s why he deserves his paycheck,” wrote one user, clearly pleased with Seacrest’s hosting abilities, while another added: “Hardest working man in television, imo.”

Seacrest recently said goodbye to ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’

Seacrest remains the host of ‘American Idol’ after recently ending his time as co-host of ‘Live With Kelly and Ryan’ with Kelly Ripa.

Even though the show was ranked as the number-one daytime talk show in households as per Deadline, Seacrest stated he was leaving in order to focus on other upcoming projects.

“From the bottom of my heart and the bottom of all of our hearts, we just want to thank you for being wonderful, for being an original, authentic addition to this show,” said Ripa during the final episode on April 14.

“You are forever our family. We will never say goodbye to you. We will only say, ‘See you soon.’ I love you,” she said after the two broke their promise and shed tears.

As for Seacrest, he called himself “a very lucky man” while adding that, “I want you all to know, it’s not lost on me how fortunate I am.”

He said: “I’ve spent my entire career talking, talking on radio and talking on television. Words are my bread and butter, my wheelhouse, but today it’s hard to put into words how deeply I’ve appreciated being here and being with you, being invited into your homes every day to try and deliver a smile or a laugh or two… I’m honored to be part of this family.”

After Seacrest’s departure, the show has since become ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’, with Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, taking over co-hosting duties.
