A new Drake track released on Friday sees the Canadian star take aim at hip-hop producer Metro Boomin’.

The song, entitled ‘U My Everything’, is part of Sexyy Red’s new album but features Drake on a guest verse. In it he responds to Metro Boomin’s Drake diss track ‘BBL Drizzy’.

“Me and the surgeon got history / I changed a lot of girls’ lives for real, they need a new body, they hittin’ me,” Drake raps on the ‘In Sexyy We Trust’ album.

“BBL Drizzy, they want a new body, they ask me for it / The last one Jung, he did it for free ‘cause I sent over so many pass ones for him, for real.”

Drake plays on a claims, featured in Metro Boomin’s previous tracks, that he has undergone plastic surgery in the past. In his latest release however Drake flips the idea to say that he pays for cosmetic surgery for the women he dates.

How did the Drake - Metro Boomin’ beef start?

The animosity between the two artists began in March when Metro’s beat was used by Kendrick Lamar in a Drake diss. The song, ‘Like That’, was actually released by Metro Boomin’ and Future but Kendrick’s verse stole the show with big hits aimed directly at Drake.

That track sparked a series of diss tracks between Kendrick and Drake. The Canadian superstar released ‘Push Ups’ the following month, before Kendrick replied with ‘Euphoria’ soon after.

Drake’s ‘Push Ups’ also took aim at Boomin’, telling the producer to “shut up” and “make some drums”. The 30-year-old from St. Louis opted instead to fire back with ‘BBL Drizzy’, mocking Drake and employing samples from a song created by comedian King Willonius using artificial intelligence.

Nearly two months in, this modern rap beef shows no signs of cooling down. Metro Boomin’ has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry and previously collaborated with Drake on ‘Jumpman’ in 2016 but their working relationship seems to have passed, for the moment at least.
