Why did Jeremy Allen White and Addison Timlin divorce?

Just four months ago, Jeremy Allen White professed his love for his wife Addison Timlin during his acceptance speech for his Golden Globe win for his role in the series.

After years of public affection, the public has been shocked to find out the news that the couple is getting a divorce.

The couple first met when they were teenagers. They started dating in 2013, later married in 2019, and have since welcomed two daughters.

The couple previously have not shied away from publicly proclaiming their love for each other. Just last year in August, White called Timlin his best friend in an InStyle interview.

“When I found out that my wife and I were pregnant … She called me because she wanted to just tell me right away. We had just moved into our house in Los Angeles, and I was sitting in the backyard to have a little rest,” he told the magazine, describing how he got a tattoo dedicated to his firstborn.

He continued: “And there was this really old tree sitting in the corner, with a hummingbird nest in it. The tree was dead, but the nest looked like it had been there for a long time. As my wife was telling me we were pregnant, my eyes were just on this hummingbird darting around the whole time. So, I got a little hummingbird for Ezer, our oldest daughter.”

What we know about the separation so far

According to court documents first obtained by TMZ, Timlin initiated the divorce on May 11, 2023. There were no further details on the cause of the divorce or the custody agreement for their two children.

Just three days later, Timlin would post a lengthy Mother’s Day inspired Instagram post and caption where she revealed that the two have been separated for some time, likely nine months, and she views herself as a single mother.

However, online celebrity gossip account DuexMoi suspect it might be infidelity which caused the couple to split. According to an anonymous tip sent in to the Instagram account, White allegedly cheated on Timlin with his personal assistant.

Another anonymous source for the account suggested that it was actually Timlin who was cheating on White with an unnamed actor/writer/director who she met through a female costar of her husband from his latest film.

Allen’s most recent film is ‘Fremont’, which was released earlier this year. White starred alongside up-and-coming actress Anaita Wali Zada.
